LIGHTING EQUIPMENT AND SPECIAL EFFECTS
Here is a photo that shows my control set-up
early on. I was probably a year into my association with Visage when this was taken. We were working on some new songs and I had set up the light
system to practice with them at the band's studio in south Minneapolis.
The black box is the original foot switch box that I purchased when I bought my first lighting set-up. I added the toggle switch to allow for a fast change
from one lighting preset to another which is what the upper row of switches was for. I also put the Vox strobe lights control in that same box.
Then I added the silver box to allow me to dim three of the channels and included momentary switches for a flash effect. The green box on the far left was
for special effects. I had the large and small black lights, two yellow floods on the drum kit that I could control with the toggle switch in a back and
forth style to go along with a drum solo, my explosion rig and I also had picked up a red revolving light like a police car would have (used on Ridin'
the Storm Out and Smoke on the Water). It was good progress but I had more ideas and the band did as well.
